Shawn joined the IL FOP Labor Council after a 20-year career in the East Moline Police Department, where he held positions ranging from Patrolman to Sergeant. He served as an executive board member and later became the Executive Director for the IL FOP Labor Council. In addition, he has been involved in the Illinois FOP State Lodge, serving on the Executive Board and various committees, advocating for members' rights.
